Essex County College Training, Inc. Celebrates 20 Years in Newark!

The Essex County College Training, Inc. is marking 20 years of successful service to the wider Newark community.  Through partnerships with area employers, funders, and volunteers approximately 2500 participants have completed training in a variety of skills needed by the area market, and 80% of graduates have secured successful employment.  The Training, Inc. in Newark has provided leadership for the Training, Inc. national network in developing new programs in the allied health field.   For more information, contact Director Mitra Choudhury at choudhury@essex.edu, or read their recent newsletter!

Corporate Sponsors Make Boston & Indianapolis Events Successful!

Training, Inc.’s in Boston and Indianapolis held successful partner recognition events in March, honoring key employers and volunteers while raising critical funds.   Major sponsors included Adecco, Anglo Irish Bank, Bingham McCutchen, BlueCross BlueShield of Massachusetts, Boston Medical Center, Chase, Cinergy, Citizens Gas & Coke Utility, Endangered Species Chocolate, Hollister, The Indianapolis Foundation, John Leonard, Lincoln Property Company, Mays Chemical Company, the Sanders Group, Sovereign Bank, Tufts – New England Medical Center, USA Funds and Wainwright Bank.

New Affiliate:  YWCA of Racine, WI!

The YWCA of Racine, WI, has joined the Training, Inc. affiliate network as a first step toward bringing a Training, Inc. program to the Racine area!  The Training, Inc. approach fits well with the YW's mission of "eliminating racism and empowering women" by increasing education and training opportunities and addressing barriers to self-sufficiency.   Local corporations and civic organizations are already providing seed money to launch the new program.  For more information about becoming a Training, Inc. affiliate site, contact Marty Miles at 317-264-6740 or mmiles@traininginc.org
